About the website
The website was started in 2015. It was created and regularly updated by then grade 12 pupil, Mariambibi Patel. We will be forever grateful for her efforts. She went on to make us extremely proud, bagging a full house of distinctions including 93% for Life Sciences and a record breaking 100% in Mathematics. We know she has a bright future ahead of her and we wish her ultimate success.
About the Crew
The Life Sciences department has garnered a reputation for consistently achieving outstanding results in the matriculation examinations, with recent pass rates ranging from an impressive 97% to a perfect 100%. Moreover, our track record also boasts a substantial number of students achieving distinctions.
The foundation of our success rests upon a motivated and dedicated staff, coupled with the enthusiasm of our learners. Together, we are actively seeking avenues to enhance not only the department itself but also the school and the wider community.
Much of the school's legacy of excellence in Life Sciences can be attributed to the late Mr. M.A. Khan. Unfortunately, we suffered the loss of this invaluable asset on April 6, 2015, due to a tragic car accident. Mr. Khan's contributions were far-reaching, including co-authoring the Via Africa Life Sciences Grade 12 textbook, serving as a national matric examiner, and being a popular presenter on "Mindset Learn" on DSTV, among his numerous accolades. May the Almighty God grant him paradise and reward him abundantly for his tireless efforts in supporting learners throughout South Africa.
Presently, our esteemed team of educators includes Mr. A. Rajah, Mrs. T.M. Bvuma, Ms. H.B. Laher, and Ms. R. Patel, collectively bringing vitality to our subject. Notable former staff members comprise Ms. A. Seedat, Mr. T. Liholo, and Ms. S. Cassim.
With this website's launch, our aspiration is to provide valuable assistance to learners not only at Ahmed Timol Secondary but also across the entire country.
We are immensely proud to highlight the remarkable achievement of Rabia Mohamed Sooliman, who attained an exceptional score of 273 out of 300 in the 2017 Matric final examination. Her outstanding performance earned her the coveted MEC's award for achieving the highest mark in Life Sciences in Gauteng. Her accomplishment fills us with great pride and satisfaction.
